Biking through Vineyards

Location: Pelee Island Winery, Pelee Island

We spent our 1 year wedding anniversary on Pee Lee Island.  We took the time to have lunch and a wine tour at the island's winery.  I exclusively only buy Pee Lee Island wine ever since this trip.

Double Trouble

Location: Christie Lake Conservation Area
While visiting, explore the trails that wind for 10 kilometres through peaceful meadows and towering pine forests - you'll be sure to see a wide range of wildlife that make their home in this 336-hectare conservation area. Trails are accessible by foot, snowshoes or cross-country skis, weather permitting.
Swimmers and sunbathers will enjoy Christie Lake's 360-metre sandy beach, and a chlorinated swimming area that is screened from the rest of the lake. Tubes and flutter boards are available to rent at the Beach House.

Watermelons & Summer

Location: Bronte Creek Provincial Park

This pastoral, all-season oasis between Burlington and Oakville offers a place to unwind and step back in time. View living history demonstrations in an 1890s farmhouse. Take the children to the playbarn to pet the animals or romp in the outdoor playground. Camp overnight, swim in a huge outdoor pool, stroll along nature trails, and pedal your bicycle. In winter, skate outdoors, go tobogganing and cross-country skiing. The day use and campground areas in this park are separate; each has its own entrance.

Spitfire the Lurcher

Location: Rye Lee Farm
Spitfire age 9 months

The lurcher has as many varied uses as types can be crossbred, but generally they are used as hunting dogs that can chase and kill their prey. Most lurchers today are used for general pest control, typically rabbits, hares, and foxes, although some of the larger types have been successfully used on bigger game like wild boar and deer. Lurchers can be used for hare coursing, although most hare coursing dogs are Greyhounds. Lurchers move most effectively over open ground, although different crosses suit different terrains.
